bike vs bike

After putting a rigid Tange fork on my mountain bike a few weeks ago, I finally got out to try it today. This is after 3 weeks of bike commuting on my Electra Townie.

Wow - the old Giant MTB is a lot faster, and the new fork increases its efficiency. Real zippy, good-handling bike now. Not as comfy as the Townie — but I’ll bet I could take 10 minutes off my commute if I set it up with some panniers.  Still planning to get a killer new wheelset for the Giant. But after I acquire a new old bike from a buddy. More on this later.
